As a result of the nomination from Manual Lodge #450 of Manning, we are pleased to recognize Mr. Tom Casey of IKM-Manning Community School District as one of the Grand Lodge of Iowa Teachers of the Year.
For 35 years, Tom has dedicated his life to the communities of Irwin, Kirkman, Manilla, Manning and all the other small communities in the school district. He is being recognized for the work he has done in the classroom and for being the one of the ties that has helped bind these communities together through several school consolidations. Tom has also, over the years, led several community service projects with the assistance of his classes and the football teams. Mr. Casey has demonstrated humble servant leadership throughout his teaching and coaching career.
Tom will be recognized in a presentation this Friday night before the football game. Participating in the award presentation will be Ronny Frahm, secretary of Manual Lodge #450 of Manning and Bill Crawford, Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Iowa.
Tom will be awarded a plaque to commemorate this honor. In addition, the Grand Lodge of Iowa has contributed a $1000 donation to the school. $500 of which is for Mr. Casey to use at his discretion for the classes he teaches, and $500 for Mr. Casey and the school to use as they see fit.
