The recent blizzard disrupted the final two days of the first semester so we were unable to complete semester tests. In anticipation of the storm we announced to students on Wednesday, December 19 that if we did not have school on December 20 or 21 we would complete semester tests on Thursday, January 3. Unfortunately that is exactly what happened so we will be taking the remainder of our semester exams on January 3rd. We use a block schedule with double length periods during semester test days. The tests we have remaining are for those classes meeting periods 2, 4, 6, and 8. Hopefully your son/daughter brought the necessary materials home to study for those exams, as we asked them to on December 19. If for some reason they would need to get study materials, the school will be open on Wednesday, January 2 for a teacher workday.
Some students may have 3 or less exams left to complete. In light of the unusual circumstances students will be allowed to leave school on Thursday, January 3 after they have completed their final exam period provided they have completed all other school work and obligations and if they have permission from a parent/guardian. If you grant approval for your son/daughter to be dismissed after they complete their final exam periods please send a note with your child on January 3 or contact the school office that morning.
I wish you all a Happy New Year and look forward to our second semester.
